Kate Henshaw, The Horror?

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw at their 3-day play performance 'The Wives' stepped out in Ankara pant, a slippers, a casual top and a gele (head tie) with other celebrities. The event held at the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre, Onikan on Saturday, 11 October.

I saw a couple of pictures online and I kept thinking to myself if this was intentional and why she would do this? But I guess she wore that on purpose to portray 'Angela'-her role in the play. For any reason it may be, I think she took it a little further. I am of an opinion that if you would wear a gele (headtie) with an Ankara pant, you may as well wear a full Ankara attire-like she did in the play. Why would anyone even wear a gele on any Ankara pant?-just asking. When you attend a dressy event like this-particularly a cast in the play- the rules change a little. A shabby dressing is never a good idea.

I consider her outfit overdone! But-hey this is a costume for the play! I must admit that I love her smile and her makeup isn't taking her natural beauty away but that bag and the slippers is killing me-argh! An 'effortless style' always look classy and approachable. She has a good sense of style in real life. *smiles*

Style Secret

Style isn't rocket science, but you do have to put in some effort to develop a unique style that's all your own. That being said, there is such thing as putting in too much effort when it comes to style. The magic happens when the look appears effortless, even if it wasn't, don't try too hard. Style that is overdone tends to look forced, and often a cliché. Not to mention, you probably have a busy schedule-don't we all?- and sometimes you need to be able to throw together a great look at a minute's notice. The secret is simple: first off, know what your personal style is and secondly, make sure your closet reflects that.

If you're one of those people who walks into a full closet and thinks, "I have nothing to wear"  it might be time to figure out why you feel that way. Truthfully, we've all felt that way at one time or the other but sometimes, it may be just one of those days that nothing you put on looks good.

Another thing is cleaning out your closet and donate some to charity. I know it's hard to say goodbye to those old, completely dated pieces, even when you haven't worn them in 5 years, but that will help you take the first step to an organized closet--a closet of clothing you actually like and want to wear, and consequently a less-time consuming morning routine.
