Aso-Oke (pronounced ah-shaw-okay) is a kind of fabric that is hand loomed cloth woven by the Yoruba people of south west in Nigeria. Aso-oke was originally called 'aso ilu oke', which means cloth from the country of highlands. It can be worn for special occasions like weddings, birthdays and chieftancy titles. The beauty of Aso-oke comes out well when combined with other fabrics. The truth is, it can be worn by different tribes not necessarily the Yorubas. I for one love the Alaari because Red is a vibrant colour. Red Aso-oke pops out and gives any outfit a radiant tone.
Cool or not?
This is called Alaari-a rich red Aso oke
This is called Sanyan- a brown and usually light brown aso oke
You may contact me through my Email address for your Aso-oke. Thanks
