Genevieve Pink Ball
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time where Nigerian women get together to stand up for the cause. The 2014 Genevieve Magazine Pink Ball took place yesterday, October 18 at the Dorchester Event Centre, Lagos. It was a spectacular event that showcased Nigerian Fashion and honoured Nigerian women contributing to a noble cause. I want to believe most of you have probably seen this already but for those who haven't, keep reading for photos of celebs showing their support.

Shoe On Display
My Current shoe finds to fancy is this beautiful Kurt Geiger shoe. Would you rock this? For me, this sandal can go great with a little black dress. Not a tight one-as it can make your thigh look larger and not a long one-as it will shorten your body. A loosed fitting dress will definitely make your leg look toned and muscular-thank me later!
Shoe Specs:
Kurt Geiger
Black High Heeled Sandal
Price: £150
- Synthetic lining and sole

Kate Henshaw, The Horror?
Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw at their 3-day play performance 'The Wives' stepped out in Ankara pant, a slippers, a casual top and a gele (head tie) with other celebrities. The event held at the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre, Onikan on Saturday, 11 October.
I saw a couple of pictures online and I kept thinking to myself if this was intentional and why she would do this? But I guess she wore that on purpose to portray 'Angela'-her role in the play. For any reason it may be, I think she took it a little further. I am of an opinion that if you would wear a gele (headtie) with an Ankara pant, you may as well wear a full Ankara attire-like she did in the play. Why would anyone even wear a gele on any Ankara pant?-just asking. When you attend a dressy event like this-particularly a cast in the play- the rules change a little. A shabby dressing is never a good idea.
I consider her outfit overdone! But-hey this is a costume for the play! I must admit that I love her smile and her makeup isn't taking her natural beauty away but that bag and the slippers is killing me-argh! An 'effortless style' always look classy and approachable. She has a good sense of style in real life. *smiles*

Style Secret
Style isn't rocket science, but you do have to put in some effort to develop a unique style that's all your own. That being said, there is such thing as putting in too much effort when it comes to style. The magic happens when the look appears effortless, even if it wasn't, don't try too hard. Style that is overdone tends to look forced, and often a cliché. Not to mention, you probably have a busy schedule-don't we all?- and sometimes you need to be able to throw together a great look at a minute's notice. The secret is simple: first off, know what your personal style is and secondly, make sure your closet reflects that.
If you're one of those people who walks into a full closet and thinks, "I have nothing to wear" it might be time to figure out why you feel that way. Truthfully, we've all felt that way at one time or the other but sometimes, it may be just one of those days that nothing you put on looks good.
Another thing is cleaning out your closet and donate some to charity. I know it's hard to say goodbye to those old, completely dated pieces, even when you haven't worn them in 5 years, but that will help you take the first step to an organized closet--a closet of clothing you actually like and want to wear, and consequently a less-time consuming morning routine.

The Perfect Mix
Two weeks ago, I went for an event at the Radisson Blu Hotels in Victoria Island, Lagos and I had so much fun.
Let me quickly share with you what I call the perfect mix. Ok, so after many days of not knowing what to wear, I took out little time to look through my closet and bang the idea came.
I have been lusting over this exquisite Tory Burch earrings so I decided to get myself one, same with the shoes--the hint of the marc Jacobs perfume bottle is that it goes perfectly with my purse and my dress. Swoon!
Outfit details
Tory Burch earrings
BCBG shoes
ASOS purse
Swatch wristwatch
Marc Jacobs perfume

Dusting 'it' off
To say I was sad when I logged on and saw that I had only few posts from months ago was an understatement. I want this blog to be another way to document our everyday fashion life. When I read through all the old posts, I just loved all the stories and looking at the photos and different styles made me want more. So, why cant I keep up?! Truth is, I had given up but this time, I want to set a new goal and just jump in where we are now, start writing again and quit making it look difficult than it really is.
Now my watch word is DO, as in quit over thinking it. Although, thinking it means it has to be perfect but I'll just DO! Now, I'm taking baby steps to work on the things that I want to Do- blogging, being more creative, open my fashion business-yes I am a seamstress- picking up different projects and caring for my family. I know it's going to be a hard work but I will DO.
I feel like a new person and I really hope to give you more fashion stories. Do enjoy my blog and be amazing!!!
LOVE xoxo
By the way, I'm wearing 'sin' on my lips by MACcosmetics, eye liner and mascara by Maybelline *smiles*

Styling a Mini-bag as Cross-body
As of this year I gave in to this staple, for the challenge if not for the necessity. When styling a Mini-bag, the key is to always have the big picture of your look and know exactly what you want to say with what you’re wearing. Otherwise you may end up looking boring, dated, un-interested in fashion. Which is perfectly fine, unless you’re aiming for the opposite. I’ve always felt mini bags looks better in more structured shapes.
The most stylish way of styling a mini-bag is wearing it as crossbody. No need breaking the bank to own one, no need becoming a Louis Vuitton bag copycat, what matters though is that it looks polished & new. It may be as simple as plain day, if it has structure and a quality material it will look fantastic. Slouchy black bags need a bit more attention in styling but it’s worth a shot.

Denim Head to Toe Trend
Back in the day draping yourself in denim was a fashion faux-pas, but as fashion is by definition a multitude of uncertainties-in a good way and constant changes, today, Denim On Denim has turned into a massive trend. For the past two years I think this Duo Denim Trend is trying to make a way and settle in as that uber cool look any respectable fashionista can don without looking like a fashion victim. And since practice makes perfect, its hard work paid off.
Not a new invention in the least, still feels good though to know it’s perfectly fine to keep on rocking the denim top with any type of bottoms, given they are denim too. What’s the catch? No catch. Though it used to be ”don’t do same color denim on denim” but eff that, you know-lol. Don’t let anyone tell you to not wear something when it looks amazing and you’re just having fun with it. So how to wear denim on denim? However you like it, but just for the sake of the fashion game let’s play along :) Thank you!

Veiled Beanies To Trend in 2014?
I really caught my first glimpse of Bryan Boy wearing this and I thought this is a lot later in the game but I decided I really like it. Everyone is Wearing Jil Sander's Veiled Beanie Hat and could actually trend again in 2014. I think wearing it is even more fun than looking at it. I will share a photo of my DIY when I'm done. What do you think?
